Over the last few years Plasma treatments have become very popular in the Cosmetic Industry. At Oolala Cosmetic & Laser Clinic we offer 3 different modalities of Plasma treatments:
Neogen Plasma
Neogen Plasma uses medical grade nitrogen gas which transforms into Plasma by using ultra high frequency energy. The energy is transferred into the skin vial pulsed thermal energy.
Benefits of this treatment:
Skin resurfacing, skin tightening, acne scarring, fine lines & wrinkles, eye bags / festoon, droopy eyelids, stretch marks, scars, topical drug delivery, photodamage, pigmentation, pore reduction, pre-cancerous lesions, foot bacteria, warts.
During the treatment you can expect a warm sensation to your skin as the skin becomes tighter. We consider the treatment to be fairly non invasive, but this depends of the machine settings and if low or high energy has been used. Effects may be seen immediately, however final results can improve over the next weeks and even months. Neogen can be used on all skin types.
Plasma Pen
The Plasma pen utilises electro static energy created from the atmosphere by ionisation. The thermal energy is delivered to the skin using a pen.
Benefits of a Plasma pen treatment:
Tightens loose skin, reduces fine lines & wrinkles. Brightens skin tone, improves skin texture.
After the treatment you can expects brown small dots (charring) to the skin which may last around 5-7 days. Results usually improve up to 3 months after the treatment. We have found that Neogen is a superior treatment to the Plasma pen as there are less risk of complications such as scarring and more concerns can be treated.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet Rich Plasma uses the patients own blood separating the blood cells using a centrifuge. The Plasma is injected into the patient.
Benefits of PRP treatment:
Overall Skin Rejuvenation. Brightens and evens dull skin tone and texture. Treats fine lines and wrinkles. Plumps and firms the skin. It can help with Acne scarring when used with other modalities such as micro or skin needling. It may help with hyperpigmentation. PRP can also be used for hair regeneration and as treatment alternative for sport injuries.
There is no downtime as such, however you can expect some soreness, pin point bleeding, swelling and bruising.
Results can be long lasting after a series of 3 treatments as it boosts collagen and elastin. It is also considered a very safe treatment as it uses the patients own blood and been around since the 1970’s. The risk of adverse reaction is reduced as it uses the patients own blood.
Plasma treatments are a great option for anyone seeking to rejuvenate the skin without the use of Anti wrinkle injections or Dermal fillers.
