Jessner Peel
The Jessner Peel is designed to remove superficial layers of skin, dry out active acne, dislodge blackheads, reduce shallow wrinkling and scarring, help lighten hyper pigmentation and improve the overall appearance and health of sun-damaged, acne prone, aging skin. One of the main ingredients of Jessner Peel is salicylic acid that deeply penetrates the pores and removes congested sebum and dead skin cells. This solution may be applied in layers to provide a variety of results. It can also be used in conjunction with microdermabrasion for a deeper penetration.

Salicylic Acid Peel
Salicylic Acid is a great keratolytic which means it helps loosen the bonds between skin cells to promote exfoliation. Salicylic Acid is oil soluble and lipophilic so it penetrates sebum filled follicles & cleans out clogged pores, it is also good for exfoliating congested follicles and very is effective in the management of problematic skin concerns.

Photodynamic therapy
Photodynamic therapy is prescribed for the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinoma, nodular basal cell carcinoma and Bowen’s disease, but can also be beneficial for the treatment of acne, pigmented lesions and skin rejuvenation. Photodynamic therapy may also be prescribed for treatment of thin or non-pigmented actinic keratoses.
The treatment occurs in two stages;
- the preparation of the area to be treated and the initial application of solution,
- followed by led light therapy.
Over a few hours the drug is absorbed by the cancer cells, then light is applied to the area treated. The led light causes the drug to react with oxygen, which forms a chemical that kills the cells. Photo Dynamic Therapy may also help by destroying the blood vessels that feed the cancer cells and by alerting the immune system to attack the cancer.
Photo Dynamic Therapy usually requires two treatments, two weeks apart but no longer than 7 weeks, and patients are reviewed by the prescribing doctor 2-3 months after treatment for a follow up. Studies have shown that PDT be just as effective as surgery or radiation therapy in treating certain kinds of cancers and pre-cancers. PDT has no long-term side effects and is less invasive than surgery. PDT can be targeted precisely to concerned areas and can have further treatments in the same area multiple times and there is generally minimal to no scarring after the site heals.

Cosmo Peel Forte
What is a Cosmo peel forte?
A Cosmo Peel forte is a cosmetic procedure in which a TCA solution is applied on the skin to remove layers of dead skin cells and stimulate new skin growth, even out skin tone and give a smooth and fresh appearance. A Cosmo Peel can be used to treat rough and dry skin, acne, post inflammatory pigmentation, fine lines, sun damage and hormonal pigmentation.
What does the treatment involve?
During a Cosmo Peel forte treatment your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove any impurities or makeup. The Cosmo peel is applied to the treatment area using gauze and is then left on the skin for up to 12 hours before being removed with water at home. You will feel a tingling/prickling sensation in the first few minutes after the peel application, this will subside quickly.
Cosmo Peel FORTE is a medium depth peel used to treat the appearance of wrinkles, textural irregularities, pigmentation and smokers complexion.
Side effects include medium to severe skin shedding that may last from day 2-14 post peel application.
How many treatments?
We recommend having this peel as a once off treatment. This should be followed by an annual maintenance treatment.
Results can last for years depending on how well you care for your skin afterwards.
Who can have these treatments?
Cosmo peels are not suitable for those who have been on Roaccutane in the last 6 months, have open wounds at treatment site, infections, rosacea, psoriasis or dermatitis in the area to be treated. Cosmo Peel forte are not suitable to have while breastfeeding and nursing.
Olive and darker skin clients are required to prep their skin on our recommended tyrosinase inhibiting serum for 2 weeks prior to having a peel performed.
Post care information
Immediately following a Cosmo peel treatment your skin will be lightly flushed. We recommend that you do not wet or apply makeup on the skin for 12 hours post treatment. You may experience mild through to severe skin shedding from day 2-14. We advise that you do not prematurely pick at or exfoliate the dead skin as this may cause scarring or post inflammatory pigmentation. Once the skin peeling is complete you will see a dramatic improvement in your skin’s complexion. Over the next four to six weeks the skin’s appearance will be enhanced further. The skin will look more vibrant, clearer, firmer, and healthier.
