Non surgical Blepharoplasty / eye rejuvenation
This new technology allows doctors to perform eye upper and under eye lid rejuvenation and lifts without the usual surgery.
A low powered device is used to achieve a lifting effect on droopy eyelids and saggy wrinkly skin under the eyes. As the skin under your eyes is very thin, it can be a facial area that ages very quickly. The skin around this area looses it’s elasticity very quickly as we age and can leave you looking tired.
A generated spark created by the device delivers heat into the treated area causing the skin to contract. It is very effective to achieve skin tightening. After the initial healing period of around one week an immediate result can be seen. Results may further improve as your body creates a significant amount of collagen to the treated area resulting in a more youthful appearance.
How is the treatment done?
The area to be treated is numbed with local anaesthetic. You may feel some heat to the area from the spark of the device, but this is not painful and patients should only experience very minimal discomfort.
The treatment does not involve any invasive cutting or removal of skin tissue. It is very effective on upper and lower eyelids, but also smoker’s lines above the lips.
The generated heat applied to the treated areas creates skin response resulting in skin tightening and collagen production and leading to skin rejuvenation in the skin.
What are the side effects?
Side effects include swelling & reddening of the treated area for around 2-3 days. The healing process includes crusting of the treated area. This must be left alone to heal naturally without picking of the crusting. This could take up to a week post your treatment.
Some patients may experience more swelling and redness and also sensitivity. This is most likely on the areas surrounding the eyes. This can take around 7-10 days for some patients.
We ask that no make-up is applied over the treated areas for the first 24 hours after your procedure.
What benefits can I expect from this treatment?
Skin tightening and texture improvements are the biggest benefits. Most patients will see a major improvement immediately after just one treatment. In some instances another 2 or 3 treatments may be needed. You can expect to look younger and fresher, while over time your skin will respond by naturally building more collagen and increasing elastin production.
How long does the treatment take?
This treatment is very straight forward and fairly short depending on the areas to be treated. We do allow up to an hour taking into consideration preparation, anaesthesia and the actual treatment.
