Thermal Skin Tightening

A painless and effective one off treatment to tighten various areas of your body…

What is Thermal Skin Tightening?

Our multiple Thermal skin tightening device uses a probe that heats your skin below the skin surface to around 51°C RF (radio frequency energy) to promote collagen stimulation making the skin tighter and giving it a more youthful appearance. It also proves to be a good treatment choice for cellulite reduction.

This treatment is performed by our very experienced Cosmetic Doctor. Thermal skin tightening is suitable for all skin type and also can be used on light or dark skin tones. Our Cosmetic doctor administers local anaesthetic to numb the area to be treated. This treatment causes no discomfort to the patient. The treatment usually has no downtime, though common side effects may include swelling and some bruising.

Results can be seen after just 1 treatment and the results slowly improve over the next 2-3 months as your body produces new collagen to the treated area.

Our Thermal Skin tightening system can effectively be used on the following areas:

  • Lower Face
  • Neck
  • Abdomen
  • Love handles
  • Arms
  • Knees

How does it work?

Our Skin Tightening System uses Radio Frequency Energy to cause controlled damage to the skin. This promotes the production and stimulation of collagen.

As we age, our collagen production diminishes every year. By the time we reach our 40 ties our collagen production is almost nonexistent leading to saggy  skin, wrinkles and volume loss.

By directly delivering high controlled heat directly into the dermis and damaging the structural walls of the fibroblasts, we encourage the fibroblasts to make more collagen to keep their walls intact which leads to tighter skin.

What sets this treatment apart from conventional Radio frequency treatments is the feature that your Cosmetic Dr can not only precisely control the temperature but also deliver it the temperature to the ideal depth and guide that heat to the exact area for the best result possible. The thermal imaging allows also for the external temperature to be monitored and regulated.

As mentioned earlier, collagen production does take to grow and it improves over time. You may not see significant changes for the first 4 to 6 weeks. Final results should be seen anywhere from 3 to 6 months post treatment. The collagen in our body lasts for many years though, so it’s a worthwhile wait.

Your areas of concern and expectations may be discussed at a consultation with our Cosmetic Doctor.

The Procedure

On the treatment day the Cosmetic Doctor will first mark the exact spots of areas to be treated. He will administer / inject a numbing agent into the skin so you do not feel any discomfort during the procedure. After your skin area is numb, the Doctor will insert the probe into your skin which injects Radio Frequency energy into the layers of your skin. The probe is moved up and down into the areas of concern and areas are equally heated. The Doctor monitors the temperature at all times ensuring that is stays in the correct range.

The procedure takes around 45 minutes depending on your specific treatment area. After it’s done, the doctor will wrap you up and send you home. Sedation is usually required. However if need be, the Doctor will give sedation and in this instance you will need someone to drive you home.

As mentioned earlier you may experience bruising and swelling. The Doctor might want some compression applied to the area treated. Pain medication post treatment is usually not required.  Any concerns post procedure should be discussed with the Doctor.
